NO! This is a lie that appears to have been started by one of KFAB's morning talk-show hosts on March 24, 2008 (the day the petitions came out). ALL OUR PETITION CIRCULATORS ARE VOLUNTEERS. He had no basis for that statement, but he said it on the air anyway. ...so much for truthfulness from KFAB!
Who can sign a petition?
Anyone who currently lives in the city of Omaha and is currently registered to vote can sign a petition. That does include registered voters who live in the part of Omaha that used to be called Elkhorn.
Can the petitions be done on-line?
No. The petitions signed must be only those provided by the State, and a petition-circulating person must witness each person sign their petition. People who circulate petitions must be registered Nebraska voters.
